Why The Prostate Cancer Charity

Behind the scenes, SexHealth has been a long-term supporter of the Prostate Cancer Charity. For the past few years our staff have run fundraising events to support the charity, raising thousands of pounds to help tackle prostate cancer.

As a sexual health store, we feel it is our social responsibility to educate our customers about things that may affect you, so that you enjoy a happier, healthier sex life.

Prostate cancer is the most common form of male cancer and affects more than 250,000 men living in the UK today. Sadly, a further 37,000 are diagnosed with prostate cancer each and every year.

If left undiagnosed the cancer can spread and it can be fatal. Catching the cancer early dramatically increases survival rate, but treatment often involves surgical intervention the consequences of which can be loss of sexual function.

By aligning ourselves with The Prostate Cancer Charity, we not only aim to raise funds to help support their work, we are also committing ourselves to improving education and awareness for prostate cancer, so that men everywhere are better informed about the disease.

Where your money goes

Every penny of your donation goes directly to The Prostate Cancer Charity. We don’t keep a single penny for ourselves as an administration charge - it all goes to the charity.

Thanks to your donations, the Prostate Cancer Charity are able to offer a number of valuable services to men who are at risk of prostate cancer and want advice about diagnosis, treatment and where to obtain counselling.

Aside from their website, The Prostate Cancer Charity (http://www.prostate-cancer.org.uk/) also offers a daily confidential telephone helpline through the week and a large range of fact sheets to help people with their diagnosis and what follows afterwards.

Male cancer charities are very much underfunded and underrepresented in the UK today, but with your support we can help to change this and raise awareness so that the Prostate Cancer Charity can continue to offer these services and more in the future.
